Travis is a co-founder and executive board member of the North Carolina Firefighter Cancer Alliance. The Cancer Alliance was founded in 2017 to help firefighters who face a cancer diagnosis with peer support, guidance, and assistance.  Additionally, the Cancer Alliance realizes the role that  overall wellness plays in recovery and works with like-minded individuals to educate others 

Additionally, Travis is both a Certified Fire Investigator and Deputy Fire Marshal with the Concord Fire Department in Concord NC.  His specialties include new construction review and fire code interpretation.
